Live Your Best Life

Is a physical illness holding you back?

Are you ready to commit to a healthier lifestyle, but you don’t know where to start?

Change doesn’t happen overnight. For some of us, it’s not easy to stick with routines that help us achieve the better life we want.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

It’s frustrating when we know we should do better and feel like a failure for not following through.

It’s scary when we are facing serious illness.

It’s time to reach out for the help you need so that you can take charge of your mental and physical health.

Health Psychology is a fairly recent branch of psychology that focuses on promoting both improved mental and physical health by being aware of the interactions between the two.

How is your approach different from “regular” therapists?

Everyone knows that when you don’t feel well physically you don’t often feel well emotionally.

Typically, though, most therapists focus on the emotional part. Because of my training and experience in health psychology the interaction between physical and emotional health is always considered during therapy.

I work with people to understand about how their physical functioning impacts their emotional function and vice versa.

I will encourage you to develop and stick with plans to both physical functioning and emotional health.

I am not a physician, and I do not prescribe medication. I am a Health Psychologist with an understanding of how the physical body can impact the mind and vice versa.

Providing therapy as a Health Psychologist takes us along two main paths, both through video therapy using evidence based methods.

Path One:

I assist people who are not currently experiencing chronic illness in committing to lifestyle changes that promote physical health (you WILL leave your first session with an exercise goal.)

What would YOU like to change?

Path Two:

I work with people who are experiencing chronic physical illness, including cancer, in living their best lives (again, expect an exercise goal set for your current ability).

Chronic Illness

Diabetes, Arthritis, Parkinson Disease, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Pain are some of the conditions my clients have faced. Together we work together to understand their physical realities and how this impacts their social and emotional skills. Using knowledge of their medical condition we develop plans to experience the best lives.

Cancer

Cancer is not a single condition, and I don’t treat it as if it were.

Your emotional response will be different depending on the type of cancer, the prognosis, and treatment method. I can be there to support you through what may feel like a maze of feelings and choices.

Together we will use mindfulness practices that have been shown to help on this journey.

In addition to the mindfulness practice, Panorama Therapy provides private place to talk about your experiences, vent your emotions, and set plans for you to live your life fully.

Take the next step on the path to your best life.
